Kim + Nathan | Married

The more I learned about Kim and Nathan’s wedding leading up to the day, the more excited I became. The classy winter theme with DIY flair, the rich colors that popped right off the Dayton skyline, and Kim’s fiery red hair with a contagious smile to match. We started the day getting ready in the farmhouse Nathan grew up in, and took bridal party portraits in the barn just up the hill from the house. The weather was bitterly cold, so the barn provided the perfect amount of shelter from the wind but still allowed us to use natural light! It was the perfect compromise.

From there, we headed to the venue in the heart of downtown Dayton. Kim and Nathan just found this place a few months ago, and it was incredible! It was the perfect setting for this winter affair, and the hot chocolate bar and barn-like feel took this second floor space over the top. Even more wonderful than the venue, however, was the amount of smiles and laughter echoing through the space. Nathan’s large family has lots of kids, and both families were so kind and overjoyed at the marriage taking place that the whole room was practically bursting with joy. It was exactly what I would have expected for this joyful couple who have found the perfect match in one another. Kim and Nathan are both just so full of life, and when I asked them about what qualities they love about each other the most, they said,

“Nathan likes to be goofy and tell jokes. Sometimes his jokes are of the dad variety, but they still make me laugh.”

“I love that Kim laughs at my stupid jokes, even if it’s out of pity. She always finds ways to have fun.”

If that’s not a perfect match, I don’t know what is. Celebrating with Kim and Nathan on their wedding day was such a blessing to capture, from the first click of the shutter to the glowing light of their sparkler exit, every moment was doused in love and joy.
