Casey and Stephen’s love story began nearly fifteen years ago in the fifth grade. After a short time dating (after all, the level of commitment between ten-year-olds is usually relatively short), they decided to be best friends instead and spent their childhood and teen years together. Their friendship blossomed into love as they reached the end of high school. Eight years later, after staying together through college and a cross-country move, they returned to Ohio with their families and became husband and wife!

Their wedding was special for so many reasons, but what stuck out to me the most was the love shared by their families and friends. Casey and Stephen are both loved not only by their parents, but by their step-parents alike! Before the ceremony, Casey’s dad and stepdad both embraced her in a sweet first look, and she shared a first dance with both of these upstanding men who have loved and protected her for years. Stephen celebrated with a first dance with Casey and then his mother, followed by his stepmother and grandmother.

As the party ramped up, all Stephen and Casey’s high school friends joined them on the dance floor for a night to remember. Every detail was perfect, right down to the Graeters ice cream truck that pulled right up to the building and offered free ice cream for all the guests on such a hot June day!

Casey and Stephen, I had so much fun celebrating with you and your families! The deep love and respect for others embedded within you both will take you so far in life, and after meeting those closest to you, it’s easy to see where those traits come from. I’m so excited for you both to begin this marriage journey together!
