In 2017, twenty-two incredible couples chose me as their wedding photographer. Some of the weddings were big, others small; some were at swanky country clubs and others at trendy downtown locations. In addition to Ohio, I had the opportunity to photograph weddings in Kansas City, Chicago, Virginia, and Maryland. Twice I played double duty as bridesmaid AND photographer, and nineteen of those twenty-two venues were locations I’d never shot at before. I’m truly amazed at all the opportunities that came flying at me in 2017, and I can’t wait to see what happens in 2018!

But before we close the chapter on 2017, I want to take a look back and say thank you to every bride and groom who trusted me to capture your memories. I wouldn’t be where I am without you, and your stories are what inspire me to stay in this profession. The celebration of marriage, the joy of sharing your most important day with your closest family and friends, and those tiny details that tell your love story… those moments are the most precious, and through those moments your memories come to life! As I look back through my favorite images from 2017, this theme emerges…

Those three things are what I wish for every couple who has stepped in front of my lens over the past year, and that is what I can’t wait to capture again in 2018.

This post wouldn’t be complete without thanking the incredible vendors and friends who have supported me over the past year! If we’ve worked a wedding together, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity, kindness, and for the amazing flowers/decor/stationary/hair/makeup etc you’ve created for these amazing brides and grooms. Your work is SO appreciated! And to all the friends Josh and I have made in the wedding industry over the past year, we appreciate you so much and can’t wait to build on those foundations come 2018. It’s hard entering a new industry in a city where neither of us grew up, but you’ve welcomed us with open arms and we’re so excited to be a part of the beautiful world of weddings!
