Erika & Tommy | 7.13.19

It seems like forever that Josh and I were looking forward to Erika and Tommy’s wedding day, and it’s so hard to believe it has come and gone! They planned everything themselves, and while I don’t think they would choose to do it again (just ask Tommy), everything turned out absolutely perfect. Their wedding day started at the Westin downtown, where Erika and Tommy exchanged gifts and shared a sweet first look. I love when couples choose a first look, because they get to see each other in a private moment created just for them… and afterwards, they get to spend the whole DAY together!!! The nerves disappear and the excitement sets in… and for Erika and Tommy, this is where the fun began!

We piled into the party bus and drove to the Statehouse for portraits, and even on a steamy July day, it wasn’t terribly hot in the shade! Their bridal party was so fun and we were able to get all their portraits done in a flash. We drove to Dock580 for their beautiful outdoor ceremony- definitely a highlight of the day. During the ceremony, Erika and Tommy each shared a little piece of their love story. Tommy explained that he had started to worry he would never find his “person” …and then Erika walked straight into his life. I love stories like that! To me, it shows that God is always watching and knows exactly the right time to introduce us to our forever partner.

During the planning process, Tommy and Erika had expressed that they wanted a great party and time to hang out with all their friends… and boy, did they get it! Tommy owned the dance floor and by the end of the night, Erika was right by his side. They ended with a sparkler exit, the perfect capstone to their super fun wedding day. I’m so glad I was there to capture it!
