Classic Navy Wedding at the Ohio Statehouse

For a long time, the Ohio Statehouse has been on my list of dream venues to photograph. When Lori booked me for their wedding last year, I was beyond thrilled, and the love story she shares with her new husband Justin kept getting better and better! Several months prior to their classic Statehouse wedding, Lori emailed me and explained that they had decided to marry a month early at the place where their relationship began- Miami University. Rather than be the center of attention at a very large gathering, they chose to say their vows in a more intimate setting with their closest family and friends back where it all started, and their Statehouse wedding would be a reception to remember…

…and every. last. moment of the wedding celebration at the Ohio Statehouse was incredible. No detail overlooked, nothing but smiles on every face. Justin’s father is a former Ohio state senator, so Justin knew the entire building like the back of his hand from the time he spent there with his dad. The incredible team at the Statehouse transformed the atrium to match Lori’s vision of tall white floral centerpieces with greenery spilling out of every nook and cranny. Accents of navy and gold brought the room to life, but what really made the difference was when Lori and Justin made their grand entrance and the room erupted with cheers. Tears glistened on cheeks as Lori’s dad gave the most wonderful welcome speech any wedding guest has ever heard, and with that, the dinner and dancing began and the energy never faltered from that moment on.
