When Kayla and Nicholas decided to get married in January, they knew there was a decent chance for snowy weather. However, I don’t think anticipated that THE winter storm of the season would hit on their wedding day! What we thought was going to be several inches of snow actually turned into… rain. Wet, freezing rain and sleet all day long- that turned into an icy blizzard by the end of the night!

Talk about crazy, but I’m being 100% honest when I say that Kayla and Nicholas didn’t seem even a little bit phased by the weather. Part of their calm demeanor probably stems from Nicholas being from Minnesota… but mostly, that’s just the kind of people they are. They aren’t easily rattled, and spending the day celebrating their marriage with family and friends was more important to them than the weather. They are soft-spoken, trusting, and strong… and from the moment they saw each other for the first time and shared a long, tight embrace, it was obvious that nothing would stand in the way of their love that day.

Kayla and Nicholas’s wedding was a reunion of sorts, because there were THREE Michelle Joy brides there! Kayla had been a bridesmaid both in Katie & Daniel’s wedding and Meredith & Zach’s wedding, and it was so special to be there for her wedding day too! Their family worked hard to make every detail of the day perfect… Nicholas’ mom designed their invitation suite, Kayla’s mom hand-beaded the veil and sleeves of her wedding dress, and her entire family worked tirelessly to plan every detail of the reception. During the toasts, Kayla’s younger sister talked about how happy she was to invite the Nicholas into their family, and I know that both families feel the same way. I can’t wait to see what these two accomplish together in the new family of their own. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Bostwick!!!!
