Dedicated. Strong. Quiet confidence. Loyal.
These words describe both McKenna and Joe as individuals, but this past Friday, they became husband and wife under an archway adorned with soft spring flowers. Now these words will become the cornerstone of their marriage, rooted in their love for the Lord. Close to two hundred of their closest family and friends filled the beautiful greenhouse at Jorgensen Farms on a perfectly cool spring day. All eyes were on McKenna and Joe as they saw each other for the first time as she walked down the aisle, arm in arm with her father who had embraced her only moments before as they waited for their turn.
It’s impossible to count the number of hugs McKenna and Joe gave and received on their wedding day. There were hugs following the moment when McKenna’s bridesmaids saw her for the first time in her beautiful lace wedding gown with long sleeves and an illusion neckline. McKenna’s grandpa watched as his granddaughter’s husband-to-be took photos with his groomsmen, and when they finished he didn’t let him slip by without an embrace. Joe and McKenna’s sister Madison exchanged their first hug *ever* following the ceremony… I suppose gaining a new sibling is definitely a cause for celebration. There were the hugs after McKenna’s grandparents won the anniversary dance honoring their sixty-five years of marriage, and after Madison gave her toast as the maid of honor. Each embrace was unique, meaningful, but all centered on the celebration of marriage for McKenna and Joe.
It was an honor to be there for every embrace, and choosing favorites was nearly impossible… but I love it when that happens! Every wedding day should be like this- beautiful, passionate, and overflowing with love. McKenna and Joe, thank you for trusting us with your wedding day!
