Shelly + Matt

Shelly and Matt attended the same high school in a small town on the outskirts of Cleveland. They didn’t know each other yet though; likes ship passing in the night, they each had their own friends and social circles, not knowing how close their person actually was.

After high school, Shelly and Matt both moved 200 miles south to attend Ohio University in Athens. This time, they found each other thanks to an old high school t-shirt that struck up an immediate conversation. Almost eight years after that, they will be returning to Athens for their wedding day.

I met Shelly and Matt for the first time at their engagement session, at the Cleveland area park where Matt proposed. They love to hike on the weekends no matter the weather, and on this particular winter day, they were virtually alone in the park. When Shelly turned around, Matt was down on one knee. I love that the location we chose for their engagement photos is somewhere so special for them!
