Elegant Multicultural Wedding at Juniper Rooftop

Antanina & Steve | 3.8.19

If you had met either Steve or Antanina years ago, before their paths crossed, and asked them to describe their perfect partner and wedding day, I don’t think in their wildest dreams they would have been able to tell the love story that has now taken place. For them, love took them around the world. A quiet yet fiery girl from Belarus fell in love with a soulful, charismatic guy from Ohio, and they would soon become inseparable.

When I arrived at the downtown Columbus hotel to photograph their wedding day, enthusiastic Russian conversation floated through the door into the hallway. Antanina and Steve’s wedding day had arrived, filled with details that paid honor to both their cultural differences and Steve’s quirky sense of humor and love for surprises. Antanina’s breathtaking wedding gown, purchased back in her home country, drew gasps and squeals of delight from everyone who saw her and showcased both her classic beauty and love for fashion. Following their first look (where Steve’s expression was the BEST ever) and portraits, the wedding party traveled to Juniper, where all the festivities would begin!

From that moment on, the entire evening was a wonderful whirlwind of tradition and celebration. Steve and Antanina shared in a special traditional blessing with her parents before the wedding ceremony, which was a true privilege to witness. Later during the ceremony itself, Steve had arranged for a live artist to paint the scene of he and his bride overlooking the city as they said their vows. I loved this special touch- it was one of the most amazing things I’ve witnessed!

Antanina and Steve, your wedding was one I will not soon forget! You are so special, and the attention you put into every detail of your wedding day reflects the amount you care for one another. The fire ceremony, cake-cutting, and your spectacularly choreographed first dance are only a few of the memories that I was thrilled to capture for you- and I pray you cherish them for years to come. Congratulations you two! Enjoy reliving your wedding day through some of my favorites from the day 🙂
